Account & data deletion

Delete your RecoveryRoad account and data

This page applies to the RecoveryRoad mobile app (com.webiq.recoveryroad) on iOS and Android. You can delete your account and its data directly in the app under Settings > Delete account, or request deletion by email at support@recoveryroad.app without reinstalling the app. Deletion is permanent.

Two different actions, and what each one can reach

RecoveryRoad does not require you to create an account to use the app, so “delete account” here means something more specific than it does in most apps. Two separate things can be erased, and they are not the same:

  • On-device erasure (Settings > Delete account). Removes the recovery data stored locally on that device: check-ins, journal entries, pledges, workbook answers, plans, and milestone dates. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. It only reaches the device you run it on, and it cannot erase anything held by Apple, Google, or a payment processor.
  • An emailed deletion request. Covers any data associated with you that RecoveryRoad holds outside your device, such as support correspondence or an email address you gave us. Use this if you have uninstalled the app, or if you want records we hold removed as well. It cannot erase data already deleted locally, and it cannot reach purchase records that Apple or Google keep for their own accounting.

If you want both, run the in-app deletion first, then email us.

How do I delete my account in the app?

  1. Open RecoveryRoad and go to Settings. Open the RecoveryRoad app on your device and tap Settings.
  2. Tap “Delete account”. In Settings, tap the flow labeled “Delete account.”
  3. Review and confirm. A confirmation dialog lists the categories of app data that will be erased. Confirm to permanently delete them from your device.

This permanently erases the locally stored app data listed in the confirmation dialog, including your check-ins, journal entries, plans, and preferences. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

How do I request deletion without the app?

If you have uninstalled RecoveryRoad or cannot access the app, email us and we will delete the information tied to your account. Include the email address or identifier you used with the app so we can verify the request. We confirm and complete emailed requests within 30 days.

What data is deleted, and what may be retained?

Deleted: your recovery and profile content — daily check-ins, journal entries, pledges, workbook answers, plans, sobriety and milestone dates, support contacts, notification and privacy preferences, and related app state.

May be retained: Apple, Google, and (when enabled) RevenueCat may keep purchase and billing records under your app store account or a pseudonymous billing identifier for their own legal and accounting purposes. See the Privacy Policy for details on data storage and retention.

Account deletion FAQ

Do I need the app installed to request deletion?

No. If you no longer have RecoveryRoad installed, email support@recoveryroad.app with the subject “Account deletion request” and we will process it for you. You do not need to reinstall the app.

How long does account deletion take?

In-app deletion takes effect immediately on your device. Emailed deletion requests are confirmed and completed within 30 days of verifying the request.

What data is deleted when I delete my RecoveryRoad account?

Deletion erases your recovery content and profile data: daily check-ins, journal entries, pledges, workbook answers, plans, milestone dates, support contacts, preferences, and related app state, as listed in the confirmation dialog.

Is any data kept after deletion?

Apple, Google, and (when enabled) RevenueCat may retain purchase and billing records tied to your app store account or a pseudonymous billing identifier, as required for their own accounting and as described in our Privacy Policy. RecoveryRoad does not keep your recovery content after deletion.

Can I delete some data without deleting my whole account?

Yes. You can delete individual entries (such as journal entries or check-ins) inside the app without removing your whole account. For a partial deletion request we can help with, email support@recoveryroad.app.
