RecoveryRoad publishes educational recovery guides, product explainers, tools, and comparisons. This page states who writes, who reviews, which sources we use, and how often we update material. It exists so readers and answer engines can see the same standard on every sensitive page.
Who writes
Writing is led by Jared, a recovery science writer, together with the RecoveryRoad editorial team. Authors do not invent first-hand clinical practice or fabricated testimonials.
Review
Pages that discuss withdrawal, overdose, suicidality, or medications are marked as high-sensitivity (YMYL). They show a review note, a crisis path, and citations. The current reviewer of record is RecoveryRoad Editorial & Medical Review Team (Organization). A named licensed clinician will replace that Organization placeholder when engaged. Until then, Tier 1 claims stay inside cited public-health sources and never give individualized detox or medication instructions.
See health content standards for safety tiers and Stability Score claim control.
Sources
We prefer NIAAA, NIDA, SAMHSA, CDC, FDA, and NIH MedlinePlus for medical statistics and risk language. Product comparisons use current store listings, privacy policies, and official pages, with a last-verified date. See comparison methodology.
Updates
Material product or safety changes get a visible last-updated date. Comparison pricing and store facts are reviewed at least quarterly. Corrections are logged on the corrections page.
What we are not
RecoveryRoad is a wellness and self-help companion. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or emergency care. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or, in the US, call or text 988. More lines live on crisis resources.
