This is a small day counter you can put on any recovery blog, community page or treatment centre site. Paste one snippet, set a start date, and it counts days in the reader’s own browser. It loads no analytics, sets no cookies and sends nothing anywhere. Free to use, including commercially, if you keep the credit line.

What the widget does not do
- No cookies, no local storage, no fingerprinting.
- No analytics, advertising or third-party scripts of any kind.
- No network requests once the file has loaded.
- No personal data reaches us, because no data leaves the reader’s browser.

Credit and permitted use
Use it on as many pages and sites as you like, commercial ones included. In return we ask for two things: keep the credit line that ships with the snippet, and do not present the counter as medical, clinical or treatment advice. Do not remove the in-widget wording about counting in the browser, since that statement is what makes the privacy claim checkable.

Frequently asked questions
Is the sobriety counter widget really free?
Yes. It is free for personal, nonprofit and commercial sites, with no account, no sign-up and no usage limit. We ask that you keep the credit line that comes with the snippet.
Does the widget track visitors or store any data?
No. It loads no analytics, sets no cookies, uses no local storage and makes no network requests after the page loads. The day count is calculated from the date in the embed URL inside the visitor's own browser.
Can I change the label and colours?
You can set your own label text and choose the dark or light theme using URL parameters. Please do not restyle the widget itself or remove the credit line, so that readers can tell where the counter comes from.
Will the counter work if a visitor has JavaScript disabled?
The count needs JavaScript, because it is calculated in the browser rather than on a server. With JavaScript off the widget shows its label and the credit line, and nothing breaks on your page.
Can I embed it on a treatment centre or coaching site?
Yes, as long as the placement does not suggest that RecoveryRoad endorses your programme or that the counter is clinical care. RecoveryRoad is a self-help tool, not treatment.
