Comparison content should help someone choose safely, even if the right answer is another product. This page defines the rules before any ranking language appears on a child page.
Publisher disclosure
RecoveryRoad publishes every page under /compare/ and /best/. We have a product in the set. That does not authorize fake winner badges, invented ratings, or hidden affiliation. If we cannot verify a claim from a primary source, we omit it.
Criteria
Criteria are defined before ranking:
- Supported recovery categories
- Privacy and data handling (store declarations, policy, and public product claims, kept distinct)
- Account requirements and social or community features
- Journal, cravings, milestones, and insights
- Coaching, blocking, or other extra services
- Pricing and platform availability where verified
Privacy alone is not unique. Multi-category tracking alone is not unique. RecoveryRoad's position is the combination of private on-device tracking, daily check-ins, Stability Score as a self-reflection signal, Growth Insights, identity work, crisis-support tools, and broad category support.
Sources
Use current App Store and Google Play listings, official websites, and published privacy policies. Do not invent first-hand product usage. Do not scrape or paraphrase reviews as if they were our lab notes.
Dates and corrections
Every comparison must show a last-verified date. Material updates are listed on corrections. Browse published comparisons from the compare hub.
Download the dataset
Everything in these comparisons is published as a file you can check, cite, or disagree with. It holds 170 observations covering 10 apps across 17 attributes, recorded from public App Store listings and official product pages on 2026-09-01. RecoveryRoad is in the dataset on the same attributes and the same date as every competitor.

What this data cannot tell you
- Values describe what public listings stated on the verification date; prices and features change without notice.
- Prices are US App Store figures and vary by region.
- Feature values are observations of advertised functionality, not the result of clinical or security testing.
- Store ratings reflect the rating shown on the listing, not an independent sample.
A value of “Not stated” means the listing did not say, which is not the same as “No”. If a figure here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it and re-date the row rather than quietly edit it.
