What stays out of a public profile
You do not need to publish a recovery story, display a streak to other users, or join a public conversation to use the private journaling experience. The purpose is a place to record your own day.
Private-by-design is not the same as independently security-audited. RecoveryRoad does not claim that a privacy label or an on-device feature proves a security certification.
Separate the app, the website, and your store account
Your everyday journal, a guide requested by email, and a subscription purchase are different activities. A guide request needs an address to deliver the message. Your app store handles its own account and billing information.
Read the current privacy policy and the Data Safety or App Privacy section for the platform you use. Check which optional features are enabled. Do not assume that a statement about local journal storage applies to every service involved.
Plan for a shared, lost, or replaced phone
Someone who can open your unlocked phone may be able to view local information. Use your device's screen lock and review notification previews before recording anything you need to keep private.
Before deleting the app or replacing a phone, verify the backup and transfer options available in your installed version. Do not assume that local information has a recoverable cloud copy. Support cannot promise to restore a journal it does not hold.
Compare privacy by feature, not by a slogan
Ask whether an app makes a record public by default, requires an account, offers optional sharing, or connects to other services. Those answers can differ between platforms and features.
Nomo, for example, describes its clocks as private by default and has documented guest use. RecoveryRoad's comparison pages should help you evaluate these distinctions, not imply that every other tracker requires a public profile.

Is private the same as anonymous?
No. Keeping a journal off a public feed is different from anonymity. A store account or an email you send to support may identify you even when journal entries remain local.
Are the website and app covered by the same practical data flow?
No. Reading a webpage, requesting a guide, purchasing a subscription, and keeping a local journal involve different systems. Review the policy and platform disclosure for each activity.
Will my browser calculator entries appear in the app?
No automatic transfer is promised. The free website tools are separate from the app's everyday tracking.
Can support recover a journal after I remove the app?
Do not assume that it can. Verify the backup or export options in the version you use before deletion. On-device storage does not itself provide a recoverable server copy.
